About the Miady 50 Amp Generator Power Inlet Box

A green light on the flip-top cover turns on when the generator cord is plugged in and live. The box is steel with a corrosion-resistant powder coat, and a spring-loaded cover shuts over the inlet when nothing is connected. Its front comes off, and 1.2 inch knockouts sit on the sides, bottom and back.

The box is designed to connect to a transfer switch or a panel, and only a licensed electrician should make that connection. Your electrician also sizes the wire for its 50 amp rating. A 30 amp L5-30 version sits on the same shelf for generators with a smaller twist-lock outlet.
